As many of you know – there is one video game store that is the mecca for all gamers – and that my friends, is Digital Press in Clifton, NJ. I was tooling around on Facebook this morning and I saw that Joe, the owner of Digital Press had posted a commercial that had been shot there for the new MTV Card from Capital One. It’s funny because it could have been any store, or a set even, there is no reason it needed to be a game store – but who cares. Our friend’s store is in a commercial and that’s awesome enough for me:

So, it’s finally happened, Little Miss Gamer has an official Facebook Group! Whoo hoo!!! For those of you that are into Facebook, do a search for Little Miss Gamer, and join the group or click the link below.
In other news – I went to my favorite video game store yesterday – Digitial Press – *sigh* I love that store. They were having a NAVA meeting (since it was the last Saturday of the month) and all sorts of cool cats were there. I even played me some Spelunker on an old Atari they had setup. Man that game is awesome and extremely frustrating.
Hope your weekend was all sorts of awesome.
So one of my favorite movies of all time is High Fidelity – it’s just so great. John Cusak, Jack Black, even LISA BONET!!!! (for those who didn’t watch the Cosby Show growing up, go school yourself – Lisa Bonet is awesome). One of my favorite music groups “Felt” even has an album called “A Tribute to Lisa Bonet.” So anywho, tangent… can I tell you that this episode was one of the hardest to film, the walking shots killed me. I don’t know what it is, you would think since we walk and talk at the same time all day long that doing this for a camera would be easy… let me tell you, we had to do so many takes of some of those shots… either I messed up my lines or the camera got tripped up (since the crew was having to walk backwards). We were also shooting at a location – Digital Press – best location EVER – and that was fun and also distracting. So many things to look at, between every take I was perusing the used games, trying to see if I could score a good deal on something.
We also got to use some good friends of mine in this episode – Michael Schupbach and Will Pike – both awesome puppet builders and puppeteers. They Rock!
Hey Everyone, This Saturday the 28th at this awesome video game store called Digital Press – there will be a NAVA (North Atlantic Video game Aficionados) meeting and PBC Productions and the Angry Video Game Nerd will be there. We will have cast members from the New Adventures of Captain S – Shael Riley (Lunk) and Ivy Hong (Becky), Brett Vanderbrook (Captain S), Chad Williams (Game Genie and The Head), Devon Riley (NES), Darrin DeMarco, and me! (I did play the Gypsy in one episode!) So there you have it… if you were wondering what you might be doing this Saturday – wonder no more – your mind has been made up for you. Come on down to Digital Press and have yourself an awesome time.
So tonight I finally made it out to a NAVA meeting at Digital Press. The other guys in PBC had been telling me about it, and finally the opportunity came up that I was free and able to go. If you haven’t ever heard of the store you can check it out here: http://www.digitpress.com/
Let me just say – it’s amazing. The selection is just awesome, the attention to detail is great, they have everything a gamer could want. It’s what I always hope for in an independently owned video game store, and Digital Press had it. We’re talking not just the standard new games and retro games that any cool store would have… but also just weird rare stuff that you might have heard of but have never really seen in person. They have a whole section dedicated to retro games in their boxes!!! Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Intellivision, Coleco, Commodore 64, other consoles I can’t even remember right now, and of course all the new stuff too. The place is just amazing, and if you’re ever on a road trip and passing anywhere near Clifton, NJ you are MORALLY OBLIGATED as someone who loves, appreciates and respects video games, to go there and support this store. It is a rare gem in a sea of Industrial ick.
The event I attended today was NAVA – the North Atlantic Videogame Aficianodos: http://www.digitpress.com/nava.htm they have a gathering the last Saturday of every month complete with in store video game tournaments, pizza, and awesome conversations about games. What more could you ask for?
In other news – I know I haven’t posted much lately, but what can I say… we’ve been rather busy over here. Check out this weeks VLog on our main site to read about all the exciting projects that are coming up. I do have a few Little Miss Gamer episodes in the works, and there should be one released relatively soon. Stay tuned…
