I’m asked many times if I have a favorite game. That question feels so hard and so unfair sometimes. Why do I have to pick one? But I guess there is a game that stands out from the rest for me, and that game is Psychonauts.
In this very special episode I team up with Lee from Still Gaming and review one of the best games ever. And oh yeah, if you haven’t gotten to play Brutal Legend yet, you have some gaming homework to do. That game is pure gold.
More soon… ![]()
The episodes just keep coming - at a break neck speed for us… so much so that it’s been up on the site ThatGuyWiththeGlasses.com for a week before I even had a chance to post about it here. We’ve been trying to get episodes out every other week. This is such a great goal for us, but also very time consuming in many ways - as we are also freelancers and have lots of other jobs and rehearsals to go to outside of filming LMG.
Since airing the episode a week ago I’ve been getting a ton of great DS and Game Boy game suggestions. Keep em coming! There are definitely crowd favorites that are making themselves known that I’ll have to check out - and also some very intriguing lesser known titles. Mmmmmm… I love getting a new console/gaming system - being able to explore a whole new group of games is so exciting. ![]()
Hey there internet!
here it is - the latest episode of Little Miss Gamer… I had a blast making it and putting the playlist together. The whole idea is to play the playlist at the same time as you’re playing the game. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think!
Items of note for this episode:
It was EXTREMELY HOT in our apartment… and in order to get good sound we had to close the windows. Oh the sacrifices we make for good video.
What is that adorable plush toy in the background at the beginning of the episode? Why it’s Konjoined Kitty! Made by my good puppet friend Michael Schupbach!
This was an idea I had kicking around for a while… would you like to see more playlists in the future?
Shout out to Hex for the animation art at the beginning of the episode and Glenn Case for the awesome intro song.
The World Pinball Championship
I had wanted so badly to go this year but the planets just didn’t align. Next year though… next year.
Hey Everyone,
I know it’s been a while but I’m back in action and bringing you a new episode of LMG for your persusal.
I’ve been working on this episode for a little while, but about a week ago when it was just about done and ready to post - I lost my voice - completely - and was unable to do the voice over bit about the world champion. Ack! I also had to postpone my podcast session with Lee. It was crazy. I was on vocal rest for 3 days and didn’t talk to anyone - lots of typing and hand gestures. Besides the fact that I wanted to be able to finish up this episode and record the next podcast with Lee - I had an audition on Thursday that I needed to be able to sing for… luckily I’m pretty much back to normal. I’d say I’m at about 90%. I still think I sound a little… what’s the right word here… husky? sultry? hmmmm, not quite sure - but you get the idea.
In other news - Little Miss Gamer merch? One of the viewer mail questions was asking if I was planning on selling Little Miss Gamer shirts. I’ll tell ya - it’s up to you guys and gals. Would you like some merch? If so what kind of merch would you like? I ask because we do all the handling of everything ourselves - so any t-shirts, posters, or dvd’s that are purchased through our PBC Productions store is hand packed and mailed by yours truly. This also means that all the store merch currently lives in our small NYC apartment - so anything we get needs to sell so that it doesn’t create a space issue. The feedback that you provide will weigh very heavily on our decision - so please please please let us know.
Our goal for LMG is to create two new episodes a month, so be prepared for more in the near future!
Keep Playin’
-z.
For the last few months we’ve been getting a stream of Maxim magazines in place of EGM. I was so bummed when I heard the magazine folded, but now I’m totally psyched waiting to see what Steve Harris is gonna do with it…
Check out a recent blurb about it at 1up.com - http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3175300
Just a few more months and the new Double Fine game will be in my grasps. Rocktober can’t come soon enough I say!
It’s because every once in a while you’ll see something that you would probably have never gotten to see ever again. Case in point: I have always remembered seeing this really strange music video with some woman (I had a hunch that it was Cyndi Lauper but it was never confirmed till today) running around a gas station and then going through a cave getting attacked and the video being left off an a “to be continued” note. Every once in a while I would bring this up to a group of people just to see if anyone ever would know what I was talking about. And then, finally - today I saw it again… yay it does exist!
As I was watching it again I realized all the old wrestling greats that were in it… man this is such a piece of history. They are all over the top, and I love every minute of it!
So here I present to you Cyndi Lauper “The Goonies are Good Enough”. The video is SO WEIRD and yet SO AWESOME!!! No wonder the memory of it stuck with me for so long. Be sure to watch in HQ!

There’s a new show opening at a place I frequent quite a bit that has to do with Video Games. HERE Arts Center has always been very supportive of puppetry, and I am usually there to see something on average of about once a month. I was very surprised and pleased to see in their recent email to me that as a part of their “Summer Sublet” series they are presenting a piece called “My Father is a Tetris Game“. If I weren’t at an amazing puppetry festival in Atlanta Florida right now I would totally go to this. Is there anyone in the NYC area who can go and report back?
