Imagine yourself at 7, Saturday mornings after cartoons were over. You are still in your PJs, sipping milk or a juice box. If you were anything like me, you popped in a Mario game, usually Mario 3.

NSMBWii os a return to the feeling you got playing Mario as a kid. It actually takes elements from the first 6 games in the series. Don't believe me?

Mario 1: Flag at the end of a level, classic end theme if the last 2 digits of your time are the same

Mario 2: Picking up and throwing enemies

Mario 3: A LOOOOOOOOOOT. Match games, toad houses, koopa kids, music, air ships, and more.

Mario World: Yoshi, spin jump, huge maps

Yoshis island: Yoshi can flutter in the air

Mario 64: Wall jumps, ground pounds, the voices

I missed alot but you get the idea, IT ROCKS, and its COMPLETELY nostalgic.

Graphicly, the levels look AMAZING, they took full advantage of the beautiful Wii graphics.

The only downside, it is H A A A A A A R D

GET THIS GAME

9.5/10

I played New SMB by myself for the first time today, and it was way harder than I remembered multiplayer being. In multi you have the chaos of 4ish players bouncing around and killing each other, but if you communicate effectively it can save you from repeating an entire world. In single player mode it's you against the world, classic Mario style. If you lose all your lives you lose your progress in the world and have to restart from the beginning. All the levels you beat (in the current world) have to be beaten again. In multiplayer, this reset only happens when all characters lose all their lives at the same time. If one character still has a life left, the others are given 5 lives and you continue on your current level.

In a weird way, this totally caters to people wanting a hard singular experience and other people who want a fun party game.

Fun with others, gets boring quickly by yourself. Feels like the DS game.

Liked it in multiplayer but also noticed how much better of a player I was compared to the other person playing. I enjoyed the single player a lot and wish Little Big Planet would have brought that much challenge.
