Most of our other content is incredibly cheap and easy to produce. Little Miss Gamer usually takes only 2-3 people to produce, and an episode can be edited in a day. Our filler fridays are always laid back, casual affairs. Captain S, even in season 1, took a lot of man-power, was always was under difficult deadlines, and sometimes took weeks to edit one episode. Season 2 was only going to compound that with most of the action occurring in Video-Land, and a much more ambitious vision for what Video-Land looked like, and one of the tightest deadlines we've ever had to deal with. All that for a show that still doesn't get as many views as Little Miss Gamer, especially now that it's hosted on TGWTG.com. From a logistical and monetary standpoint, as well as the sake of our own sanity, Captain S became too big for its own good.

If the problem is too strict deadlines and too much work to meet them, why don't you make the second season ONLY available on DVD? So you don't have to strive to meet a deadline for an episode (and not even shoot episodes sequentially, if that increases the load of work because you have to revisit a location multiple times), and if someone wants to watch it has to buy the DVD. I know I would.

I'm gonna say something for the people out their taking this really hard.
Nobody was trying to string you along, like Brett and Z have stated. I have heard a lot of people on youtube say that everyone should unsubscribe PBC just to get them back and force a second season. One, it probably wouldn't work cause there are forces unknown that stopped this from happening and being a crybaby isn't gonna help. Two, if you did so you would be cheating yourself out of being a fan. Someone who loves PBC for their sheer brilliance of cheap films with great quality. Plus, I have stated before that this doesn't mean it's out of the question that season 2 could happen still, if I am not speaking out of line. Understand that these things happen, and trust me it hurts them as much as us. But lets rejoice on what we have experienced and love the characters all the same. And let's look towards the future and expect the same great content that PBC has brought to us. Thank you.

I am a long time lurker (and an even longer time PBC fan and follower) but I thought I would step up to say a few words here.

Like many I'm sure, I was saddened by the recent announcement. I got to know PBC through Captain S, and been diligently following your works since then. So that series did have a certain connection with me, although I can safely say I appreciate and enjoy everything I've seen you guys work on. That is why I was saddened to hear the news, as I was looking forward to see the new things you were going to come up.

However, as disappointed as fans are (and sadly some seem to have chosen to respond to this disappointment with reactions I can only disagree with), I can only begin to guess at how this decision has affected you guys. From a creator's standpoint, to believe in one of your ideas, to want to show it to the world and to work your best to make that to fruition is a strong, almost magical feeling. To have to give up on one of these creations for reasons out of one's control is something that can be very hard and saddening, especially when it is something one has worked long and hard at achieving.

I suppose I wanted to write this in response to the sometimes negative backlash this has created, and to give to you, the people behind PBC and all of its projects, a humble thumbs up from one who's followed you for a long while. I know that decision must have been hard, both for yourselves and for not wanting to disappoint your fanbase, but I want to leave you with this: no matter what your projects are, either currently ongoing or brand new, I for one will be there and watching.

Thank you for all the great work, guys.

Or even like a 1.5 hour movie that takes place after Captain S. I'd buy the shit outa that DVD!

Honestly, I think offering it only on a medium that fans would have to pay for at this point would result in more backlash.

(not that I wouldn't buy it ... I just think it might look bad if they went that route)

I'm reminded of something Walt Disney once said. After his "Three Little Pigs" cartoon became an unexpected success, being held over in theaters for months, the people demanded Walt to make more cartoons featuring the pigs, which he did- but none of them acheived the success of the original. This led Walt to comment, "you can't top pigs with pigs."

I think it's the same thing here. People are demanding more Captain S, but if PBC was to give in to these demands right now, given the time and manpower Brett said was required for the original, it would probably end up being inferior. I love what PBC's been doing recently with Little Miss Gamer- creating comedic storylines which are just as entertaining as those in Captain S or anything else PBC has done while still keeping Z's natural personality. It's like getting a mini-movie every two weeks. So, for now, I think it's safe to say that you can't top Captain S with Captain S- at least in this point in time. Maybe he'll return some time in the far-off future, but even if he doesn't, it's still all right with me. He's still out there...somewhere. But what PBC's been doing recently is just as good, and whatever else they come up with will probably be the same. Which would you rather see: something that features something you haven't seen before and is really entertaining or something that features a character you already know and is poorly-made? I'd rather take quality over a franchise.

It still does leave me wanting more. Hey like I said before who knows what the guys at PBC will do. Maybe they'll get the chance to go back and revisit it. Me I'm at least hoping that the comic series will finish it up. That would be more than enough to satisfy me.

I already thought about this a few days ago. Having no Captain S isn't that big of a deal. It's been more time without an episode than we realise. We've been going 2 years without it, so it's not like this announcement is a sudden change to what we are used to.

There can always be Season 2 in comic form, although you might want to change the main page just in case people who haven't heard about it arrive.

There is no need to put Maximo(the artist) or anyone in any kind of stress to make a comic for season 2.

There will be no more Captain S. People need to get over it and move on. I'm sorry for sounding like an asshole, but it's the truth. I am as disappointed as the next guy about it, but I respect PBC's decision.

Thank you.

We will have a brief clarification on Episode 5 of the Lee & Z Show, basically just reasserting that this announcement is in fact real and that it was never PBC's intention to 'string' viewers along.

Seeing the announcement made me sad. But I can understand some of the given reasons as to why the show won't go on. In making comics I have come across the same thing, and wrapped what I was working on up, or put things on hold till things were a bit better that I could produce work. One of my comics actually had a pause in it for over a year while I was in transit, moving from one place to another.

"Captain S" was a fun show that I enjoyed very much. It reminded me of times gone by when things were simpler. Such as the time my dad let me stay home from school once because I stayed up all night playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It reminded me of shows that I watched when I was growing up also and kept me entertained when I took breaks from working on papers. I salute everyone that made the series possible, and I wish you all the best of luck in your other endeavors.
