Good review. I bought StarTropics recently...or my bro did actually. But it was used so I don't have that cool letter.
I don't play it much though...
I tried this website here to see if I could find the old commercial, but no luck. But check in everyonce in a while and maybe they'll have it eventually.
Have you played the sequel, Zoda's revenge? _________________

Startropics rules. Unfortunately I don't think I have the letter or the original box anymore. Sadateh. I did play Zoda's Revenge and it was not very good. The gameplay was similar but all the charm just completely disappeared out of the game.
The original is still one of my favorite NES games though. I actually have kind of a fun story behind getting it. My mom told me she'd buy it for me if I got straight As on my last report card of the year (this would be 4th grade). I hadn't gotten straight As all year but of course I came through in the end and my dreams came true. I must say I didn't think the game was that hard though. Not until towards the end and even then once you get the super nova morning star it gets a lot easier.
A definite lost classic though. Wish we'd see Mike in the new Smash Bros. |

I never played Startropics before because my older brother's wouldn't let me play the NES or SEGA consoles we had in till we got some other consoles like the Sega Dreamcast and Sony Playstation. I hope I can find this at Amazon or something. _________________ 4.73...... It'll have to do.... |

It will eventually come out for VC. Nintendo, ever the masters of stringing us along, are just biding their time. By the time it is released, we'll all be frothing maniacs. _________________

I have the feeling Startropics will be released the same time Earthbound is released. |

I never played Zoda's revenge, but I am hearing it wasn't as good...
Anyway, maybe Nintendo would make a next gen sequel for the Wii someday. Who knows... _________________

Maybe Mike will be a Smash Assist.
Also did anyone know that yo-yos were originally made to be used as weapons? _________________ Real GhostBusters World Record Holder

| Yeah. They just used to be big and metal and covered with blades like in Rygar. That was based on real weaponry right? |

In the Philippines, right?
I loved StarTropics when I was a kid, although I never owned it, but I did rent the game every few weeks, and, I actually did get the letter when I needed it, by asking the lady behind the counter!
I had to go through the first few levels several times, because occasionally, I'd get the other copy of the game, or some other customer had erased my save, but I did eventually beat it.
In the 6th grade, I even wrote a StarTropics fanfiction for a creative writing assignment; I got a perfect score, but then some loudmouth told the teacher that it was based on a video game, and I got 20 points knocked off. _________________ PBC gets the click! |

Fun review. I love watching these since my only 'consoles' are a Game Boy, a Cube, and a 360, it's nice to see what I've missed, and remember to try when I get a chance.
I'm still laughing over using Howard the Duck in the 'good aliens' part, though.
Plus, 747 MHZ? Awesome. I'm now making it a point to use that frequency at work tomorrow. _________________ This area unintentionally left blank |

This episode was featured on video game blog Destructoid.

Finding this out, I decided to submit the video to Kotaku and Joystiq, hoping they would pick it up as well.
If you guys want to help the show out, try propping this show up to Kotaku and Joystiq's tips e-mail boxes, and maybe they'll be more keen to posting this awesome show.
Congrats, Z and PBC! Hopefully this'll be your big break for the show. I've yet to really have one, but with hard work I hope it happens someday. |
